Dr Yehia Elkhatib is a Reader (~Associate Professor) in Computer Science at the University of Glasgow whose research has received over £4.7 million in grant funding. His research focuses on developing data-driven solutions to optimise complex distributed systems, with particular emphasis on addressing resource utilisation challenges from a user-centric perspective. His work spans cloud infrastructure optimisation, energy-efficient scheduling of scientific workflows, and low-cost techniques for reducing machine learning training errors. Dr. Elkhatib also works on enabling seamless interoperability between services and streamlining the development and deployment of distributed systems. Through his research, he develops decision-support tools to enhance monitoring, modelling, and decision-making across cloud, edge, IoT, and robotic systems.
Dr Elkhatib received his PhD from Lancaster University on the topic of network performance prediction in distributed computing infrastructures. He previously worked as a Visiting Professor at École de Technologie Supérieure, Montreal, and a Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University.
